This pen is a refillable ballpoint, bolt-action pen with a medium tip. The USS Forrestal Ship label-cast showcases America's first supercarrier, designed to support jet aircraft during World War II. This ship was affectionately named the FID (First in Defense) after the ship's namesake, the First Secretary of Defense. The redwood segmentations used in this pen were carefully sourced from a ladder in the officer's country on the ship. Our USS Forrestal First in Defense Pen is designed to honor those who serve. All of our pens come with a free black ink refill. We offer a variety of ink colors, including blue, red, green, and purple. If you would prefer a different color ink, please send us a message, and we will be happy to change out the original ink for your color of choice. When it's time to replace the Parker-Style refill (see photo for details), turn the bottom counterclockwise. There is a spring inside, so be careful not to lose it.
